From there, we will examine your teeth and gums, taking special note of any signs of decay or gum disease. If any untreated dental concerns are discovered, we will discuss your treatment options with you. Otherwise, we will move straight to your teeth cleaning.
What Happens During a Teeth Cleaning?
Brushing and flossing can help remove the food particles and bacteria that accumulate throughout the day. However, to eliminate stubborn plaque, remove caked-on tartar, and clean the hard-to-reach areas of your mouth, you need a professional cleaning. During this portion of your visit, we will use tools, like dental mirrors and scalers, to clean every surface of your teeth and along your gumline. We’ll wrap up your visit by flossing your teeth and applying a special polish that is designed to break apart surface stains. Once those steps are complete, you’ll be ready to leave our office with a totally refreshed smile!
